The consumption of alcohol is prohibited within the levee of the township of Bourke, including all public roadways, footpaths and laneways.

Alcohol Free Zone for Enngonia Village
Public notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 644A of the Local Government Act 1993, that Bourke Shire Council proposes to extend the Alcohol Free Zone (AFZ) currently in place 24 hours per day, on all public roadways, footpaths and laneways within the village of Enngonia for a further four (4) years from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2030.
A copy of the proposal may be viewed at the Bourke Shire Council Chambers, 29 Mitchell Street, Bourke, during normal business hours. The proposal is also available to download below.
Written submissions are invited on any aspect of the proposal up until 4.00pm Monday 24 August 2026.
